Andromeda Botanic Gardens

Andromeda Botanic Gardens 4.1 105
105 ratings4.1

The lush, 6.5-acre garden has the largest collection of tropical plants (over 600 species) in the Eastern Caribbean, and was established over 50 years ago by Barbados’ late most prominent horticulturist. You don’t have to be a botanist to be awed by the astonishing plants that nature has evolved, from strange to wonderfully beautiful. Trails peacefully lead through gentle folds of land, over bridges. Visitors can tour at their own pace with Andromeda’s excellent info sheet, or on Wednesdays, a guide is on site to answer all questions personally. Nearby, a treat is just around the bend: rock-trimmed Tent Bay, one of the most picturesque sights on the island’s breezy east coast, a-bob with colorful fishing boats. Also, you can drive ten minutes through beautiful landscapes to St. John’s Parish Church or twenty to Codrington College (both on the faith trail).
